Revolutionizing Solids Processing
What if you could separate wastewater into dry solids, concentrated nitrogen fertilizer, and clean water in a single step? What if this was achieved at industrial scale, with a small footprint, low cost per gallon, and minimal energy usage? That’s exactly what the Varcor® does.
Advanced Separation
Sedron is bringing state-of-the-art waste processing to markets across North America. Each project processes industrial volumes of challenging liquid wastes such as septage, biosolids, and liquid manure as a service. At the heart of these projects is Sedron’s patented Varcor® technology, which combines dewatering, thin film drying, and side-stream nitrogen removal without polymers or flocculants.
Dramatically Less Energy
Traditional dewatering, drying, and nitrogen removal methods are incredibly energy intensive, which drives up operations costs and carbon emissions alike. The Varcor® delivers a groundbreaking improvement in energy usage by combining Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) with patented next-generation thin-film drying technology. MVR is well-established in industries such as desalination and food processing, but it had never before been used to solve the waste processing problem — until now. The Varcor® system’s 30X reduction in energy usage speaks for itself.
World-class American Manufacturing
At Sedron, manufacturing is in our blood. Sedron is a spin-off of Janicki Industries, a legendary Washington-based manufacturer of aerospace parts, fighter jets, and NASA-grade components for space travel. The core components of the Varcor® are produced at Sedron’s award-winning factory near Seattle. Automated robotic welding allows for high-precision fabrication and lightning-fast mass production. Ancillary off-the-shelf components like pumps and blowers are purchased from leading vendors and integrated into the system. Varcor® units are pre-wired into skid-mounted subunits that can be rapidly installed at the construction site.
Putting the Varcor® to Work
Sedron is deploying our technology on projects that under construction/permitting, operational and R&D throughout North America.
Value to Municipalities
Sedron helps municipalities get ahead of environmental regulations by enabling healthier local waterways. It also eliminates landfill and trucking needs by producing highly compacted, 90+% dry Class A biosolids and pure, clean water in a small footprint. Beyond these environmental benefits, the Sedron model delivers tangible economic value by eliminating the need for public capital investments.
Value to Agricultural Producers
Sedron’s Varcor® system creates significant savings by nearly eliminating the need for manure management while reducing negative impacts on the environment, improving CI scores, reducing phosphorus loading on the farm’s soils, and recovering water for reuse. Agricultural producers receive all these benefits without a single dollar of capital or operating expenditures.
